i NEVER want to own a restaurant. i am so sick of them. my sister's already been promised our restaurant after my parents retire and i am absolutely fine with that. i hate foodservice. -_-

mmm, probably "red garlic". awesome, awesome, AWESOME thai food. they have the best fried rice i've ever tasted, no joke.

1. What is a common ear worm that you get?
'beijing tu zhu' by...i don't know who it's by but it gets stuck in my head and i hate it. the rest of my chinese class like it.
oh, 'bonito' by jarabe de palo. the spanish class is right next to my chinese classroom and senora buzzerd plays it really loudly. we try outdoing them but 'tong hua' isn't as catchy.

2. How long do they last?
it depends. if i listen to something new, it might go away. depends on the catchy-ness of the new song.

3. What do you do to get rid of them?
listen to something else. make someone sing a not annoying song (this usually fails).

4. What is the worse ear worm you've ever had?
songs are always stuck in my head so i'd never be able to answer this. but, recently it's been 'faint' by linkin park. or, no, not linkin park, i can only hear ben singing it and i cannot stand his voice.

today was food day. we had a journalism/yearbook pizza party (thank you, tara!). ms. qiu made delicious mexican wedding cookies (for the teacher's thanksgiving potluck. mrs. hawkins snuck me a couple in study hall). my mom bought a bunch of kimbap. natalia made some amazing cream cheese stuffed jalapenos. saba and i obsessed over foodporn. a good end to the week. i might be leaving to watch twilight in a bit. and possibly again next week because i have to explain everything to samiha.

i've met my NaNo goal! woo! 10K! that's more than last year! i doubt i can get 50K in nine days but i'm going to keep writing.

this question is a bit late. i've already started.

high school.

3. Are you someone who enjoys/enjoyed going back to school?
i'm a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to that. either that or i'm difficult to satisfy. my summers are so boring so, i always want to go back to school just to have something to do. as soon as school starts, i wish i were doing nothing.

4. Do/did you like back-to-school shopping? Why or why not?
no. EVERYONE is shopping at the same time. my parents wait until the last minute when there is nothing left. it's been four weeks and i still don't have all of my supplies.

5. Are/were you a good student?
define 'good'. i mean, behavior-wise, yes. as for my grades? not so much. but then, if it's not an A, it's not good. that's how i was raised.

it started on monday but, oh, well. i mean, personally, i don't take it too seriously since i'm not particularly religious but i guess it's sort of a habit? i've fasted since i was in first or second grade. it was the "big kid" thing to do then.
now, it's an effective way to lose weight (probably not a good way of thinking but i lost 5 pounds last year). that is, if you don't eat half your body weight in dates (disgusting) and chick peas. which i don't. because i can't. if anything, i eat the smallest meals during ramadan, excluding iftar parties - they force food on you, i hate it.

jack fruit. not a good memory. i was about 10 the first time my uncle brought one home. the minute they cut it open, my hand went flying to my nose and i ran out of the kitchen. it was the worst smell imaginable. i locked myself in my room and didn't come out for the rest of the day. for some reason, my whole family loves them.

just an inch above my shoulders. it's grown fast. it was above my chin in april.

when i think about it, yes and no. yes because it could make their life easier but, then again, it might change them as a person. depending on the person, that could be good or bad.

you can be a friend and a life partner, can't you? i mean, it's a good idea to be friends with your "life partner". i really hope my best friend and i will be friends for life.

no, not that i can remember.

well, i'm always the one left out that doesn't discover the truth until waaaaaay after everyone else does so i don't think i could answer this question as i've never experienced the situation. but i think i would tell them the truth.

the truth. even if it hurts, i would end up appreciating it more.
